Life After Racing

The Standardbred is a very diverse animal and at the end of their racing career, there is a life after racing, as they can be re-trained for a number of disciplines.

HRSA intends to work closely with registered re-trainers who currently provide an amazing service, volunteering to help horses exit their competitive environment and prepare them for their next journey in life after racing.

Please follow Chapel Lodge, Second Chance Standardbreds, Clover Lodge and Windamere Horse Haven on Facebook. If you have any free time, or a desire to be involved, please contact any of the re-homing facilities to see how you can assist them in their endeavours to give racehorses a life after racing.

Thank you to everyone who is contributing photos and short stories for our newsletter, informing us of their retired racer and their progression in their new life!
