SA TROTS - Quartet of 2yo's from Hryhorec stable
PROMINENT horseman Ryan Hryhorec is expected to continue his domination of another cluster of features this weekend.
Enjoying a season crammed with highlights, Hryhorec has captured numerous main events, including an unprecedented clean sweep of his home state’s country Trotters’ Cups.
In doing so Hryhorec became the first Australian trainer to achieve such a feat.
Hryhorec then capped off the Cup Circuit by securing the ‘Grand Final’ – the SA Trotters’ Cup at Globe Derby.
In recent weeks Hryhorec’s focus has switched from squaregaiters to two-year-old pacers, with his team proving to be a cut above the rest.
Beginning with the Silver Salver Sale Final, Hryhorec then completed a clean sweep of the heat and Final of the Alabar Golden Nursery – including the trifecta in the decider!
On Saturday night Hryhorec’s freshmen will return to Globe Derby where the Lordship Stake appears to be at their mercy.
Hryhorec has four of the six runners in the field, including Golden Nursery winner Hes All Torque and the highly-talented Jamaican Rock.
“I’ve got a pretty good hand in it, but you can never be too confident,” Hryhorec said.
“I have made no secret of the fact I believe Jamaican Rock is the best of them and he’s certainly the one to beat from barrier two.
“As he has shown in his races he is still pretty green and wayward, but I changed a few things around with him and trialled him last week where he was a lot more tractable.
“It’s hard to see him being beaten, but we all know anything can happen in harness racing, especially with two-year-olds.”
