SA TROTS -Miss Idaho steps over the border Saturday Night

QUALITY youngster Miss Idaho is poised to make her interstate debut.

Proving herself as the best of her crop in South Australia with another feature win – Southern Cross Final – at Globe Derby last weekend, Miss Idaho is engaged in Saturday’s night’s Melton meeting.

Sent across the border in search of her Vicbred bonus, the Ryan Hryhorec-trained two-year-old will contest the Youthful Stake.

“She pulled up in sensational condition after the Final and I’d had my eye on the race in Melton for a few weeks thinking it was suitable for her,” Hryhorec said. “One of the main reasons she’s gone over is to try and pick up her bonus.

“Regardless of what she does on the weekend, it’ll be her last start for the season before she goes for a good break.”

To be driven by expat South Aussie, Kate Gath, Miss Idaho is on the fourth line of betting at $7 after drawing barrier five.

The daughter of Ultimate Machete heads into the feature on a six-start winning streak.

“This will be a step up for her, but she’ll be doing her best,” Hryhorec said. “I couldn’t be happier with her going into the race, so now it will come down to luck on the night.”

Runner-up upon debut before winning at her following start, Freeasabyrd is the short-priced favourite from barrier four for trainer Emma Stewart.
