Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club Supports Industry with Low-Interest Loan for New Mobile Barrier

Harness Racing SA (HRSA) is pleased to share news of a collaborative initiative with the Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club (SHRC) that will deliver lasting benefits for the harness racing community across South Australia.

Demonstrating a strong spirit of partnership, SHRC has provided a low-interest loan to support the purchase of a new mobile starting gate. This essential piece of infrastructure will enhance race-day operations at tracks across the state, ensuring greater consistency and professionalism in racing.

This collaborative arrangement reflects the genuine cooperation between the state’s governing body and its clubs with SHRC stepping forward to support an outcome that benefits the wider industry.

“This initiative highlights the strength of partnerships in our sport,” said Dr Carlo D’Ortenzio, Chair of HRSA. “We’re grateful for SHRC’s leadership and support, which will contribute to the long-term sustainability and professionalism of harness racing in South Australia.”

SHRC President Max Beasley said the club was proud to be part of a project that strengthens the sport for everyone involved.

“Harness racing has always been about community and shared purpose,” Mr Beasley said. “This was a practical way for us to give back to the industry and help improve racing for participants and fans alike.”

The mobile unit is currently on order, with delivery expected in the coming months.

HRSA sincerely thanks the Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club for their support, leadership, and commitment to a strong future for harness racing in South Australia.
