SA TROTS Leading trainers domination at Globe Derbys Monday meeting

PROMINENT horseman Ryan Hryhorec is riding the crest of a wave.

During his last 11 starts as a driver, Hryhorec has registered seven wins and three placings across two meetings.

As a trainer, Hryhorec has six wins and a pair of placings from 10 starts from the same programs.

At Globe Derby Monday, Hryhorec registered a quartet and a treble to dominate the program!

The haul breaks down to four wins as a reinsman and three as a trainer.

“I’m enjoying a purple patch at the moment,” Hryhorec said. “These things don’t last, so you have to enjoy them while you can.

“My own team has been racing really well, which is always great and I’ve driven a couple which are in good form for other trainers.

“With a bit of luck it can keep going like this for a while longer.”

Hryhorec opened his Monday account by guiding Thunder Wing to her second win in two days when she rated 2:05.2 over 2230 metres to account for Willis Graham and Irene Rose.

“She’s had six starts since she got here for four wins and two seconds, so you can’t ask much more from her,” Hryhorec said. “She is only lightly-raced and still has a few wins ahead of her.”

Hryhorec then joined forces with Nick Tardio to score with Jilliby Mistress before another two from his team – Moops and My Ultimate Levi – proved too good.

Making his local debut, My Ultimate Levi was first-up for almost six months when he beat Urgoodboy and Quick Dan in 1:59.8 over 2230 metres.
