Globe Derby Park/ Gawler Trials
Official trials in South Australia are conducted every Sunday morning alternating between Globe Derby Park (SAHRC) and Gawler (GHRC) each weekend, unless organised otherwise. Trials commence at 9.00am. At Globe Derby Park the track is available for “run-arounds” from 7.00am and mobile practice at 8.00am. Gawler track is available for “run-arounds” from 8.00am and mobile practice at 8.20am.
Nominations for Sunday trials can be made via HarnessWeb or phone to the racing office on (08) 8285 0732 or (08) 8285 0734 before 10.00am Friday preceding the trials. Fields can be found online Friday afternoon on www.harness.org.au under ‘racing – fields – trials’. Only horses excluded from the barrier draw or stood down on Friday or Saturday night will be included after nominations have closed.
A trial fee of $22.00 per horse which includes Driver Liability Insurance will be charged to the account of the trainer, as per usual accounting procedures.
Notification of trial scratchings can be made via HarnessWeb, phone to the racing office or by speaking with race day stewards or official trial staff. It is important to notify the above-mentioned officials and staff members when scratching from trials to have the trial fee lifted otherwise the trainer will be charged $22.00 trial fee.
Please note that upon arrival to the track, horses will undergo inspection from a trial official to verify the correct horse is presented. Trainers should ensure freeze brands are clipped, easy to read and brands/markings correspond with the Assessment Certificate.
Trainers should ensure their horse is sent onto the track in the correct trial and wearing the correct number, unless give permission otherwise by an official.
Trainers are reminded trailing horses should be ready no less than 10 minutes before the scheduled trial start time of 9.00am. Trials are conducted consecutively, and staff seek your co-operation in this regard.
Only licenced drivers are permitted to drive in official trials. ‘C Grade’ drivers can lodge assessment cards to trial officials prior to trial one and pick up once the driver has commenced all trial drives for the day.
Trials replays can be found on the SA Botra Website here.
