Press Release from Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club -Prizemoney Boost for Strathalbyn Cup Night
The Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club has delivered a decisive vote of confidence in South Australian harness racing, announcing that both the Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club Trotters Cup and Pacers Cup will now carry $20,000 in prizemoney each.
At a time when confidence and leadership matter, the Club is backing the industry with action.
For more than 80 years, Strathalbyn has championed harness racing in South Australia — investing in participants, strengthening community engagement and ensuring opportunities remain strong for owners, trainers, drivers, stable staff and volunteers.
The Club firmly believes in the sport and the enduring community spirit that sustains it.
Club Chairman Max Beasley said the increase reflects both the sport and its future.
“The Strathalbyn Cup meeting will once again be a standout event on the racing calendar,” Mr Beasley said.
“By lifting both Cups to $20,000, the Club is making a clear statement that we believe in this industry, and we’re prepared to invest in its future. The spirit of harness racing in South Australia stands strong, and we’re proud to back it.”
The Strathalbyn Cup meeting promises competitive racing, strong community engagement and a celebration of the resilience and growth of harness racing in South Australia.
In addition to the prizemoney increase, the Club will provide direct support for trainers and stable staff on the night — recognising that participants are the foundation of the sport.
The Club extends its sincere appreciation to the South Australian Harness Racing Club for its ongoing commitment and support in enabling the meeting to be conducted at its facility.
The Strathalbyn Harness Racing Club looks forward to welcoming participants, sponsors and racing enthusiasts to what promises to be an outstanding and high-energy night of racing.
