RECENTLY completing a perfect debut at Globe Derby, One Aussie will attempt to keep the momentum going when he returns to the venue tomorrow night

Prepared by astute horseman Shaun Adams, One Aussie produced an impressive performance to capture the time-honoured Sapling Stake on September 12.

With Corey Johnson in the cart, the son of Tiger Tara rated 1:58.7 over 1800 metres to account for South Aussie Star and Kojax.

“The ability is there, but geez, he’s green,” Adams said. “Going into that race I was confident in his ability, but was unsure in regards to his manners purely because of his lack of experience.

“He’s been pulled up great from that run and is a little more settled in his work, so he has benefitted from the experience.”

This time around One Aussie will tackle the Lordship Stake, with the two-year-old drawn awkwardly in barrier five over 1800 metres.

Johnson will once again partner the $2.80 favourite.

“It’s pretty much where he drew last time, so I’m not fussed,” Adams said. “My main concern is he has got to do everything right at the start, then it’s up to Corey.

“As long as he stays balanced at the start, he should be fine.”
