$5,000 Bonus Introduced for First 2YO Win at Globe Derby Park in 2026

The South Australian Harness Racing Club (SAHRC), in conjunction with Harness Racing SA (HRSA), is pleased to announce the introduction of a new $5,000 2yr old bonus to further support juvenile racing in South Australia.

For the 2026 calendar year, the $5,000 bonus will be awarded to a Southern Cross-eligible 2-year-old’s first win at Globe Derby Park provided the horse has been trained and domiciled in SA for a minimum of 60 days. This bonus is in addition to the existing Southern Cross bonus.

This initiative is aimed at boosting early juvenile participation, encouraging owners and trainers to invest in young horses, and promoting racing activity at South Australia’s premier harness racing venue.

SAHRC CEO David Grenvold said:

“SAHRC is proud to be funding this initiative as part of our commitment to promoting juvenile racing at Globe Derby Park.  It meets one of our strategic objectives which is to collaborate with HRSA to develop harness racing in this state. This bonus program combined with the additional $1m in prizemoney the Club has already committed to the industry over two years make it an exciting time to be involved in harness racing. ”

HRSA CEO Heath Pocock said:
